Gallery Director and Owner
· Sole proprietor of commercial gallery focusing on contemporary and abstract art by Oaxaca artists and residents.
· Manage six-week exhibitions from concept, research, curatorial selection of artists and artwork, transportation logistics, exhibition design and installation, plan and write educational materials and texts, marketing and PR development, organize contextual multidisciplinary programs, and plan and manage art-talks and roundtables.
· Prepare and write all text in English and Spanish for catalogues, website, exhibition proposals, media, and publications.
· Develop and manage all logistics for traveling exhibition: “Mexibolous, Children of the Maguey,” Exhibition of the latest work of Alberto Mendiola, Gabriela Morac and Hugo Gutierrez, for CSU, Fresno Art Gallery and Galeria de la Raza, San Francisco, CA.
College Gallery Director and Curator
· In charge of the general operations of the Fine, Performing and Communications Department art gallery with a recurring, annual exhibitions program that serves as academic context for students and faculty of the College.
· Curate nine exhibitions per year related to the media and themes taught by FCC faculty taking into account the demographic social context and interests of the College and community.
· Train and supervise all staff and volunteers for the Gallery.
· Create contextual educational programs for students, faculty and the general public.
· Develop and manage all marketing programs and materials, and public relations efforts.
Adjunct Faculty, Art and Design Department
· By incorporating interactive technology, develop and teach a syllabus encompassing basic learning and critical-thinking on museum and gallery workings and functions in society.
· Manage and coordinate extra curricular student activities related to exhibitions, educational programs and special projects.
Executive Project Director for Diego Rivera: arte para todos en Fresno State and Executive Director for the Center for Creativity and the Arts,
· Responsible for the planning, management, coordination and financial oversight of an unprecedented retrospective exhibition of the work of a major 20th-century Mexican painter, Diego Rivera, as well as a year of ancillary programs related to the exhibition, at California State University, Fresno.
· Direct all activities pertaining to the Center for Creativity and the Arts: a multidisciplinary arts entity of the College of Arts and Humanities.
